Motor downhole genus est instrumentum potentiae downhole quod vim ex fluido accipit et postea pressionem fluidam in energiam mechanicam vertit. Cum potentia fluida in motorem hydraulicum influit, pressionis differentiae inter limbum et exitum motoris constructum rotor intra statorem gyrari potest, necessaria torque et celeritate ad camellam exercendam praebens. Cochleae instrumentum terebrae verticali, directioni et horizontali aptum est.
